Removal of Dye (Methylene Blue) from Wastewater Using Bio-Char Derived from Agricultural Residues in Palestine: Performance and Isotherm Analysis

The main aim of this study was to perform a parametric for treating model dye containing wastewater (i.e., methylene blue, MB) using locally available biomass wastes in Palestine as the adsorbent. Eight different types biomasses were investigated batch adsorption tests, including coffee grains, almond shells, pistachio date pits, jute sticks, sunflower peanut and grapevine sticks. experiments conducted on three phases processing these materials: natural adsorbents, biochar, activated carbon. biochar prepared by pyrolysis, while ZnCl2 used chemically activate materials obtaining influences pH, initial MB concentration, adsorbent dosage capacity kinetics carbon obtained from shells. results indicate that efficiency adsorbents is highly dependent type. As adsorbent, hulls demonstrated maximum (>95%) removing MB, whereas pits showed lowest (20%). In terms sticks provide highest removal efficiency. After activation with ZnCl2, considerable increase their most shells being efficient confirm technical feasibility technology treat wastes.
